When I first saw this room from Kate Spade's New York apartment (left), it was all I could think about for weeks. I'm still crazy about it, especially the stormy blue grasscloth wallpaper. I love the soft texture and the sense of calm given by the long, horizontal lines. The image on the right (from this month's Lonny) reminded me so much of Kate Spade's room. The grasscloth is identical--I love that shade of blue.
The natural colors are beautiful, too:

This tutorial
from Behr shows how to make a grasscloth finish using paint. Not quite
the same, but from a distance you could get the same general look with
really straight lines on a really smooth wall.
Or try yoga mats!

Hi Marissa,
Your blog is beautiful. I'll definitely add you to my blog roll. Thanks for stopping by.
I have a permanent love affair with grasscloth paper. They come in many colors now and many different textures. Love your blue example.
They are timeless.
I love it as well. Thinking I need to do a wall in our guest bathroom. Such a fun look. I love it in the photo with the pop of green.
